Workshops & Public Speaking

Let’s Talk About Real-Life Superheroes:  Working Parents

If you are organizing an event for working parents and would like to invite me as a workshop facilitator or keynote speaker, please submit the form at the bottom of this page.

My workshops and keynotes are designed to help organizations, especially those with working parents, develop family-friendly organizational policies and practices.  I provide organizations with solutions to ensure working caregivers thrive at work and at home.  My approach includes:

  • Establishing best practices for boundary-setting in a digital landscape.  This has become especially important for organizations whose employees work in a hybrid or remote environment.

  • Instilling leadership best practices to create supportive environments that enhance productivity and employee satisfaction.

  • Fostering inclusive, family-friendly organizational policies and practices that establish a culture of empathy and flexibility and aim to improve employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention.

I offer a comprehensive approach, covering topics such as work-life balance, personal empowerment, and the future of work in a world that is increasingly diverse.  By presenting organizations and working parents with real-world examples and actionable insights, I aim to foster a workplace where both the needs of the organization and the needs of the employee are met.

My workshops and speaking engagements are designed to help working parents find fulfillment by focusing on who they are and seeing their role as caregivers as a leadership superpower.  I leverage anecdotal stories and the latest research in personal and organizational development to ensure that the material is memorable and transformative.

I am available to speak virtually or in person.  Submit the form at the bottom of this page to get in touch and discuss next steps.

Sample Workshops

I love to customize each experience to best serve the target audience, but here is a sample of my most popular workshops.

  • Your values are the guiding life principles that outline what you believe and who you are at your best and most fulfilled self. But, when we are out of alignment with our values, we feel inauthentic and are much less likely to get satisfaction and meaning from our careers.

In this workshop, we will walk through the importance of living to your values and give you the structure and time to define them. You’ll walk away with a clearer vision of what fulfillment looks like for you and how to get there.

  • You want your organization to be a “Best Place to Work” for working families. But what does that look like for your organization?

In this interactive workshop, I’ll guide you through a creative and effective session for defining your vision and goals to engage and retain your top talent - working parents.

  • Research shows that working parents make better and more effective leaders. But, it is not without its challenges.

In this workshop, working parents will learn best practices and skills for managing their time, priorities, and energy.

We’ll also tackle one of the biggest challenges reported by working parents: navigating the guilt that comes with having responsibilities at home and work.

  • Would you ever run a business without performance expectations, communication structures, or clear roles & responsibilities? Well, you might, but it wouldn’t be very successful. Then why do we run our families this way?

In this workshop, we’ll discuss how dual-career families can better manage the work/life load by creating foundational systems and structures that allow for better communication and eliminate the need for nagging or resentment.

Keynote Talks

My keynote talks are designed to inspire the audience to reflect and engage. I leverage humor, personal stories, and scientific research that make the content deeply resonant.

    • Intended Audience - Working Mothers across all levels of an organization

    • Summary: We prepare mothers for the sleepless nights and challenges of caring for a newborn, however, we don’t prepare mothers for the core identity shift that occurs when you welcome a child.

This can be an earth-shattering transition for many women, especially when many new mothers are at the peak of their careers.

This inspiring talk reassures mothers they are not alone in this journey and encourages mothers to embrace the evolution of motherhood and careers with grace and self-compassion.

    • Intended Audience - All audiences or caregivers

    • Summary: You work hard, striving for more at work and at home, and at the end of the day you're exhausted.

What's the secret to maintaining your energy and resilience when the going gets tough? It's self-compassion. Sadly, we tend to think self-compassion will make us weak and lazy, instead of resilient and growth-oriented.

In this keynote, audiences will learn to access their self-compassion and connect to less stress and true self-care.

  • Summary: There are over 24 million mothers in the US Labor Force. Despite being some of the most skilled and dedicated employees, many mothers are leaving the workforce at alarming rates due to a multitude of reasons ranging from lack of support to systemic barriers.

Working Fathers are more engaged in parenting activities than ever before, however, they still worry that taking advantage of parental policies will harm their careers.

This talk goes beyond parental leave policies and dives into what creates a truly caregiver-friendly culture that encourages your top talent to stay.

Ultimately, this talk aims to spark a conversation and inspire actionable steps toward creating a workplace where working parents not only thrive but are recognized as the invaluable assets they truly are. By investing in the retention and advancement of working parents in the workforce, businesses can drive innovation, build their bottom line, and cultivate a culture of inclusivity that benefits everyone.

Praise from the audience…

“Good mix of practical insight and application supported by research. Great facilitation!”

“This was informative and I love the science. I can implement these changes.”
